Who Am I? by Courtney, 6-W

Who Am I?

"Where am I?" I looked around only getting the blank white walls as an answer. Then a little video showed in my mind...

I was running, running in a never-ending dead tree forest. It was dark, no stars or moon. The trees looked like they had hungry faces, their limbs were like hands reaching for me, to pull me in their starving mouths. All of a sudden I tripped and fell to the wet cold ground, then everything, every insect, every flying animal sound was gone.

My image was gone, interrupted by an old lady and man, staring at me. I tried to regain my voice only coming up with silence. The woman mumbled something that was quiet for me to hear. Just then the old man said something a little louder. I only made out "...I don't know what happened...You tell me."

I was thinking he was answering to the old quiet woman. Then I heard a quiet sound. I realized it was me. I was trying to speak. They both looked at me. Just then they said, "Are you okay, honey? You had a terrible accident." She said it in a calm voice.

"Speak child." the old man said in a very deep voice.

"Where am I?" I said in a weak little voice.

"You're at the doctor's, of course." said the lady.

"Who are you? Who am I?"

"We are your Grandma and Grandpa."

"But, who am I?"

"That's not important now, the doctor will give us the news."

"Just then a young looking doctor came in. "She's fine. She can go home today."

"Thank You, Thank You!" my grandma and grandpa said in unison.

"No problem, you can pay at the front."

Once the doctor left I shouted, "Where are my Mom and Dad?!"

My grandpa spoke this time, "Honey, Elen, they're dead."
