THE SNOWPLOW DRIVER

One winter day I watched the KCTV-5 news. We were supposed to have two feet of snow. Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. Hi! I'm Chase. I live in Lee's Summit, Missouri. I work for the Public Works here in Lee's Summit. I drive the snow plows and plow the street. So, back to the story.

My work calls and says you will work 24 hours and then get off for 12 hours and then come back for 24 more hours. And they said it is because I have to pre-treat all the side roads that I take care of. So I get in my truck and drive to the Public Works Station.

Then when I got there I got donuts because it was 12:00 a.m. I get in my Snowplow and go. The bulldozer dumps two shovels full of salt. Then I go to the roads. I go by Sunset Valley salting the roads then come back down the road. I go through a neighborhood at two in the morning. I see flakes and they call us back in.

I heard that at 6:00 school was cancelled because there was two inches of snow. But we were waiting for the snow to stop. The snow stops around 1:00 a.m. We go out and start plowing all the streets then we come back. The next day we have the big trucks shovel the rest of the side streets. Then when we get done, we head back. Then we wait for another storm. Till then, bye.

May be continued.
